February Newsletter
Coca-Cola sponsorship, Week of Celebration, Volunteer with Martha's Table and more!
Dear Corp Alumni,
We can’t wait for so many of you to join us next week! Here are a few updates of what we’ve been up to as we gear up for Corp 50.
Coca-Cola x Corp 50
In 1973, we were selling Coke and yogurt out of a converted New South storage closet. In 2022, we are proud to announce Coca Cola as the official sponsor of Corp 50! Thank you to our friends at Coca-Cola for decades of partnership!
Have questions about Corp 50 weekend? We’re hosting a Zoom chat at 6:30 PM tonight where you can ask anything you’d like to know!
Do good in DC during Corp 50!
Volunteer with The Corp with one of our community partners, Martha's Table! Martha's Table is one of DC's largest and most impactful non-profit food hubs and resource centers. Corpies have volunteered there over the past year to pack lunches and grocery bags for distribution to communities suffering from food insecurity in DC. 17 spots remain on Friday, February 18th! One group will leave from the front gates at 12:15 and return by 4:45 to pack grocery bags and another will leave at 1:30 and return by 6:00pm to staff a community market. Transportation will be paid for! This is a great opportunity to give back in the spirit of Corp 50 and volunteer alongside both Corpies and alums! Sign up first-come.

Corp 50 Week
We’re thrilled to have a weeklong anniversary planned to celebrate Corp 50 with our campus community! We’ll be doing product giveaways with our sponsors, hosting an open-mic to raise funds for Georgetown Mutual Aid, and running an alumni industry panel on law! The best part is that this upcoming Saturday, there’ll be free coffee for you and everyone on campus in the Corp services, courtesy of Compass Coffee.
If you’re coming to Corp 50, don’t forget to RSVP for weekend events here!
Operations Update - Midnight and Hilltoss Open
We are happy to open Midnight Mug earlier than anticipated, after adjustments were made to Georgetown's public health protocol. We are also excited to announce that we have brought back our classic *salad options* to The Hilltoss in a grab and go fashion. With our services now fully reopened, we can't wait to welcome back alumni for our 50th anniversary next weekend!
Bud Colligan - Award Announcement
Bud Colligan (SFS ‘76) has been selected as the winner of the Students Serving Students Award! The recipient of this award has demonstrated an enduring commitment to philanthropic and service oriented work at Georgetown and in their own communities.

Bud has served on the Board of Directors of multiple tech and media companies including Metacafe, CNet, Yodlee, Brightmail, and Lynda.com. Bud also Co-Founded and served as Chairman of Pacific Community Ventures, a non-profit which provides capital and advising for businesses in low income communities. Bud was appointed as Senior Advisor for International Affairs and Trade to Governor Gavin Newsom and served from March 2019 to February 2020.
Bud will be honored at our Alumni Awards Ceremony at Riggs Library, on Friday, February 18th. Congratulations, Bud!
A Note about Riggs Semi-Formal: In an effort to reduce crowd density in our indoor spaces, attendance at the Riggs semi-formal event has been capped at 50% of the library’s capacity. The Riggs event is a separate ticket from the rest of the weekend activities. Tickets have sold out, but if you would like to be placed on a waitlist for Riggs, please email advancement@thecorp.org.
See you soon!
